Can someone please help me with my two question,
I am an US citizen and my husband has L1b Visa. We got married in Oct 2011. I want to help him to get green card. Since he can legally work in the US, I can file form I-130 and I-485 together. My question is besides this two forms what other documents do we need to hand in all together? ( marriage certificate and my certificate of naturalization)? what else?
another question is I only have a part time job since I graduated from college two years ago. I need to do affidavit of support after the government accept my green card petition. Can we do joint income tax return for 2011, so I do not need a joint sponsor. My husband earn enough money to be my co-sponsor and fill out I-864A and I just need to fill out I-864?
Thank you so much for your time and help!~

The L1-B is a non-immigrant visa, so I'm not sure how that will work. Normally, you cannot adjust status from a non-immigrant status to an immigrant status. You might want to talk to an immigration lawyer.

Lia Koroi, what is his visa type and current status? If he is currently in his own country and not on a 2-year required residency, you might be able to file for a K-1 (fiance) visa for him. That would mean he would need to come to the US and marry you within 90 days.

I believe that you can apply for a K-1 for him. He would not be able to adjust status from a visiting (non-immigrant) visa to an immigrant visa, but a separate application would allow him to be considered, I think.

Liel17, I answered what I thought about this on the other thread that you used. You only need to ask a question here once. If you want to post it as its own question, there is a place to make a New Topic and that will do that.

Liel17, in order to create a post here, you will go into the area that relates to your question (in this case, I think you want this section), and then click the button that says "NEW TOPIC" to start a post.
